I have a couple guitars going that I want to put wood binding on. I would like to cut my own binding as I have alot of scrap figured wood. What is the process to get clean sides for the binding? I would like to here what others process is and the pros and cons. Thanks

I use a Freud 7 1/4 blade on my table saw. Works great.

I cut on the table saw, then smooth with a thickness sander.

I cut to a little over 1/4 inch, Then drum sand to desired height, then rip strips a little over desired thickness then drum sand to desired thickness. I find I can pur 5 or 6 thru the sander at a time.

There was an informative and long topic about this not too long ago, worth a search.
