How are some of the necks finished with Em 6000 holding up? I`ve always used tru-oil on my necks and really like it.I`m about ready to apply finish and thought I might give it a shot.I`m a little apprehensive about the durability?
James

James, I have over a half dozen guitars out there with em6000 on the necks. No complaints from anyone and the three I have at home are holding up great. I think em6000 feels great on a neck!

Hey Ken,

Did you pore fill with epoxy or did you try the Target Coating water based product...or something else? I have a gallon of EM 6000 to try out but I'm wondering whether or not to go the whole route and use their pore filler and sealer as well. I love the $35 a gallon price on the lacquer and the free shipping.

I like my EM-6000 necks WAAAAYYY more than the two Tru-oil ones I've got, and I've had no issues with them at all. But, I could be wierd, I've never been crazy about Tru-oiled necks....

Stuart, I use Target's HSF and Pore O Pac as my fillers. If I want to tint the fill, I'll use pore o pac. Their HSF is not the easiest stuff to use. One thing I have recently learned about EM6000 is that it has a limited shelf life. Don't let that stuff sit around longer than 6 months. I used to always keep some around. Best to order just before you are going to use it.

I've used EM6000 along with their water based pore filler. I think both work fine. So far only about 20 months of playing, but no durability issues yet.
