I'm making an archtop.

I'd LIKE to finish it with a burst along the lines of this...

I have a spraygun, a bucket of the clear lacquer and a few bottles of the dye.

anyone ever done a tutorial?

There was just a discussion on bursting here: viewtopic.php?f=10101&t=29221 that has some good info.

I've done two bursts using Target USL (same as stew macs) and it's not really rocket science. Stew mac has a DVD on bursting which is ok.

There are two schools of thoughts for bursting - one is to use a strong color mix and do few coats, the other is to do a light color mix and build coats to add depth of color. Or something in between.

Practice on scrap first.
