Because of the weather I have not been able to spray my guitar for 5 days. Do I need to sand it before resuming spraying?

The nice thing about Nitro is it melts into the coats below, just make sure it is cleaned up well before the next coats.

I think the new coats will be fine over the existing ones. Nitro can re-dissolve existing lacquer pretty well, I think.
I've only done 10 or so guitars with nitro, so not an 'expert opinion'... ;)

My question is, "if Behlen says to scuff sand between coats is it really ok not to sand?"

I kind of figured that since nitro eats into the old finish it wasn't really necessary to sand between coats....but there it is on the can and I REALLY don't want to sand the whole thing between each coat if I don't have to. So far, I haven't wanted to risk anything and I'm scuff sanding pretty thoroughly between layers.

On that same subject. I can control dust 100% in the room I built but it's not there yet since the shop is still pretty new. I expect, even though I may not sand between coats, that knocking down the big dust nubs will be important....but I wonder if the tiny stuff is something to really worry about when building coats.
