It has been a while since we have had an OLF gathering in the Chicago area, so it is high time.

Date: Saturday October 16th

Time: Late morning (10-11ish) to whenever you want to go home

Place: This will be held at my Stair Manufacturing facility showroom at Designed Stairs, 1251 E. 6th St, Sandwich IL
www.designedstairs.com

Lunch: Depending on the number, we'll probably throw some things on the grill and my wife will make some side dishes.

For those who are interested, we will do a shop tour (shop is about 85,000 sq ft) and maybe do a demo on the CNC

If you plan to attend, either reply here or PM me and give me your e-mail address so we can keep you updated

John,

I'll be there... thanks for setting this up. What do you need me to bring?

Sounds fun. I'd make the drive up to chi-town for that

Of course I'll be there. I'll show off the cool CNC work that Ed did for me.
Steve C., Are you bringing that archtop I've been hearing about?

(Clears throat) That sucker is still "in process." I had a set back and set it aside, for now. I might have a new OM ready though...

I should be able to make it. Haven't seen you guys for a while and it would be nice to see what you are up to. I will bring a uke or two since that is all I have been working on this year--not necessarily by choice, but because that is what people are asking me for.

Add Gene Liberty , Martin Brunkalla, Dale the Mandolin builder and Jim Worland to the list. I requested of Martin to bring along a Violin this time (hopefully it's one built from Ancient Kauri).

Martin sold the only Ancient Kauri violin he still had to Rhonda Vincent and she is pretty happy with it. Hopefully he'll get some good press out of that sale.

Marty plays in my little string band and is stuck playing the first violin he ever built until he can make another, but it sounds pretty good to me.

I wish I could make it on that date. I'm just down the street in Ottawa.

It would be great to meet some local luthiers.

Give me a shout sometime when you are available - we'll get a few locals together sometime.
