Some months ago I start two projects in parallel.
One is CG with R. Ruck current bracing design and another is SS guitar inspired by Mr. Somogyi.
In the middle of these projects terrible tragedy happened to me (leukemia took my 21old son) and everything stopped.
After some time I find some power to finish this lady.
There was some inlay plans for FB but maybe some another time
Some spec:
Top - spruce
B&S - wenge
Binding, headplate – padouk
Neck – mahagony
FB – ebony
Tuners – no name

Wow real pretty guitar, I love the bloodwood binding. I am real sorry to hear about your son, there would be more than tears on my guitar if I was in your shoes.

Fred

I recently lost both a father, and a stepfather of 25 years, but it must be so hard to lose a child.
I am sure that would leave a hole that nothing could ever fill.
My sympathies and prayers are with you and your family.
And I trust you can find joy in your son's life - the time you had with him, and him with his family and his friends.
Please take care of yourselves.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss...Hard to find much to say on the guitar after reading about your son. It's good that you found the resources to continue, simply doing something, anything, helps during hard times.

Your son would surely be proud of the work that you put into this guitar. It looks great.

Fric - We all grieve with you on the loss of your son. May you find peace in remembrance of him. You and your family are in our prayers.

As others have said, your guitar is beautiful and may it always remind you of the gift that was the time you had with him.

What the gang already said, Fric. The guitar is beautiful and hopefully somewhat healing to make. I'll bet your son would be so proud of it, and of you! Best wishes, Beth

Sorry about your son, Fric. Tough to reconcile when someone that young goes.

Your guitar is beautiful, though!

Ken
