where can a person buy a Hauser 37 reproduction rosette ?

just out of curiosity, no disrespect intended for the OP, but why would anyone want to create an exact replica of another instrument? I can see where it would be useful for a museum or documentary or film. But why else would you want to replicate features of a guitar that do not effect it's sound ?

Lots of people seem to do that, though. That's why they sell that stuff. Sure makes the build easier, so for early guitars, probably not a bad idea. People are always building Torres replicas too. I suppose one famous guitar is as good as another.

A guitar is a collection of details that all contribute to the final end result. Sometimes the goal is not just a musical instrument but an instrument with a similar "vibe" to the original. I have found that when I put on a Torres style head block on a Torres style guitar that I respond to the guitar very differently than when I use a different head stock; the Torres "vibe" comes through more vividly.

That being said, I have no problem doing my own aesthetic treatments on a guitar based upon Torres architecture.

I think the whole point of making replicas of noteworthy instruments is that it can greatly inform one's own building.
True, it isn't necessary to duplicate the parts that don't affect the sound (which parts? There's a huge thread right there...) but to gain the best understanding of the original I'll usually duplicate as much as possible.
In the case of the Hauser there are lots of little details which "don't affect the sound" but are valuable to learn if one wshes to raise their building to a higher level. Utilizing features such as "V" joints, double tapered nuts or matched veneered inlayed headstocks can add sophistication to ones own work.

Maybe he just likes the way it looks.....

I believe that's why so many do it, and there are items available, rosettes, to make it possible.

Two reasons why I want to puchased a Hauser 37 replica rosette.
First, I do have veneer and I am dyeing and making my own design, However; this is a lot of work and I will likely ( in fact I know I will) screw a few tops before I am satisfied and if not; I will just screw it up period. So a bought one for now is fine.
Second, I am making a Hauser replica and not a Rodriguez or a Ramirez.
That's is really it ,I have enough to chew right now

Forgot to add, the closer I can get to the look the more I feel that I can imagine that I am playing a Hauser regardless of how bad it sounds , I sound? ( interchangeable). My daytripping can escape more with a replica as close as I can get it.
