Sounds great. I just finished cutting about 6 sets of White Oak and can't wait to try it out. I was inspired to use it after seeing your posts on this guitar.

Thanks folks. Sure makes you think twice about those $$$ back and side sets. This stuff was about $14/set.
Piiman, Bob has been playing traditional blues for over 40 years. He has the touch for it and not many folks can play it like he does. I can't think of anyone I would rather listen to except Dave Ray and of course all those other dead blues artists.

Great sounding parlour Haans! You have to like small body guitars. I just sold my "go to" parlour, surprisingly to one of my Canadian musical heroes. I can't wait until I have the time in a month or so to make me another. Your buddies playing is great. Funny, we share some of the same licks. His playing is right up my ally. You really don't have to go far for some wood that works well. One of the local wood vendors has a pretty good stash of White Oak. I think I'll have to go dig through the pile (again) next time I'm there.

Didn't you just do a 12 string? Like to here that one!

Cheers,
Danny

Danny, I recently finished two...one BRW (tuned to C#) and the other a long scale mahogany (tuned to B). Here's the clips.

BRW12 #2: http://www.brentrup.com/page7/files/page7_10.mp3

Thanks for posting the clip Hanns. That little parlor sure sounds sweet. [:Y:] How do you feel the ladder braced instruments handle the more modern folk/ mostly strummed style playing?

Regards

Craig.

Very authentic sounding instruments and playing. Bare fingers?

Thanks guys.
Terry, the 6's are bare finger, the 12's with thumb and fingerpicks. The 2nd clip of the BRW 12 sounds a bit brash but that is the feeling of the tune.
Craig, my wife plays country and western (the old stuff, not the pap they pass off as C&W these days) and gets along with the parlor well with her old timey flatpicking/Dylan type strum.
Danny, I'm finding it a bit harder to find 8-9" boards for my GC's with good flake.
