Hi

I will be cutting a nut slot on my Martin Om kit, the neck is designed to have the nut on he slanted part of the headstock.

Any tips on cutting the slot and preparing the nut would be appreciated.

John

IMO .. there is nothing to cut .... except the angle on the headplate veneer, to whatever the headstock angle is. Then glue it on and leave a 3/16 space between the end of the veneer and the end of the FB (which will sit right on the edge of the neck blank where the headstock angle starts).

Making the nut is a touch tricky, but I just eyeball the angle on a disk sander, and refine until it fits the slot.
