What's happening in the last minute or so of this video? Using a blower to get the box to resonate and form a Chaldni pattern? If so, any pros or cons to this technique. (Full disclosure: I only only skimmed the series, but I didn't see him tune the top - which might be lattice braced.)

I'm sure it's not as precise as a controlled signal generator test, but I suppose he is, roughly, showing/checking the vibrating surface. You can see it is pretty much vibrating up to about an inch or so from the edge. But I think, yes, it's a crude Chaldni pattern style test.

I THINK what's going on is he's "blowing" across the soundhole like you might blow over the top of a bottle to get a tone.....

I did hear of someone who used a vacuum cleaner to get the last bits of sawdust out of a closed box, and managed to collapse the whole box, so be careful!!
