Video of first guitar I've built. My Dad was over last night and we recorded this on the back porch with my blackberry. Not great video quality. My Dad is 75 years old this year and has severe arthritis, doesn't play much these days and this is the only known video of him. He was big , back in the 60's and 70's, around the west Texas area and the panhandle. Guitar has been strung up about 2 weeks now and is opening up nicely. My brother was in from Texas so it was a nice time all around.

Not a great sound sample but I wanted to post it anyway.

What a great guitar, great version of that song and a grand Dad you have.

I was a little nervous when I handed it to him because he has owned some incredible guitars through the years. Martins, Gibsons, Collins etc. He currently plays an old Gibson J45. He has never been one to beat around the bush or pull his punches so I was curious how mine would measure up.

I think he was pretty impressed just because I had built it . He said it has good tone and volume and was pretty close to Martins in the bottom end. Said it sounds pretty tight but thats to be expected and will probably sound incredible in about 20 years. He slammed me a little on the finish but said the sound more than made up for it.

I think it must be okay overall because he played it for a while and I think he only quit because of his hands.

Thanks for all the compliments, I will pass them along.

Nice all round there Tim!! Your pop plays and sings pretty good and your 1st guitar sounds great and that's something to be very proud of indeed!! [:Y:] [clap] [:Y:] [clap] [:Y:]
Are you going to take some good photos of it and show us a bit more of the detail? Hope so....

Cheers,
Dave F.
