 I bought a Microlux tablesaw on ebay a couple weeks ago and I am excited about what I can use it for. I would like some input from others that have similar tools what they use them for. My teacher Dave Nichols has one and he uses it to make fingerboards. I read and eariler post about this and they responses weren't very positive about this idea. They sited blade runout as a possible issue. In my experiece a larger blade has more issues than a smaller one in terms of the blade not staying true. I sold Inca tools for about ten years and I would run 8" blades instead of 10" because they were smaller and ran truer. If there was runout how would that creat an issue (a loose fret slot)? I am impresses with the saw in terms of the smoothness and high speed. I am going to experiment with using a couple smaller blades as stabilizers and see what happens. Thanks in advance for you input.

I've never used the Microlux saw, but MicroMark tools are generally pretty good. Runout is going to be magnified by a bigger diameter blade. But it's pretty easy to measure it with a dial indicator. I don't see why you couldn't slot fretboards with one. It appears to have two miter slots, which you do need to keep your sled accurate.

Are Inca machines being sold in the US since Garrett Wade stopped carrying them?

Howard- Inca tools are no longer being made. The parent company decided they didn't want to be in the tool business. I have a tablesaw and a 10 1/4" jointer planer both great machines. I belong to an Inca forum where we try to help each other out with info and tracking down parts. Jesse Barrigan at Eagle tools has parts that he bought from Garrett Wade. He is pretty well stocked.

Buy the diamond blade and you can cut pearl purfling strips.

I use a Ryobi 10" direct drive that I got from CL for $50; almost everything I use it for, I use a crosscut sled. There's a Freud 7-1/2" ultra-thin-kerf blade on it, which I think is the secret to using one of these small saws.

Jeez, Howard, lighten up. I don't own both...

Parts I ordered from Micro Mark fit the Proxxon. Of course one is green and the other grey... idunno
