its for interest sake... at least i didn't do the huge bass cut on this one..

...and maybe because folks are getting a little, um... worn down? by your continued use of "Revolutionary" in connection with your guitar design, especially when usually accompanied by all the apologetics like "...its not a good demo of the guitar..." etc.

Perhaps the most persistent overarching theme here at the OLF (it can't escape the notice of anyone who reads here much) is that a guitar is a conglomeration of a huge number of details, none of which alone makes much difference at all, but taken all together are exactly what defines a guitar's character. To the point that even significant departures such as your dual chambered body don't by themselves constitute amazing new vistas.

We'd all love for our experiments to result in something revolutionary. We mostly are realistic and humble enough to see that they almost always are simply... experimental.

Peace,
Sanaka

WOW ! Sighhhhhhhhsssssssss sad to see that people can be a trifle rude, at least thats how this strikes me . And I fail to see any humility in this comment either . idunno

There are ALOT of us who are begginers and doing what we enjoy to the best of our ability. Maybe in our excitement we use terms that are not exactly what we should use . However one of the things that I HAVE apreciated is that people here are respectfull and kind in this forum . Now im seeing people I enjoyed reading post about who are leaving because of this kind of post and that saddens me. Comments like this should be done in a private message with the idea of "constructive criticism " to help people grow . Not on a post that takes the excitement away from a builder .

If this is the best that we can do . Please refrain from commenting on MY post , I think I would be happier that way

I have been following this from the begining.
I totally agree with Filippo and he has stated it well.
I think it would be hard for anyone involved in this thread to not feel like they are getting their chain pulled a bit.
Everyone had been civil and polite and now they are giving up or getting a little more pointed.
It's the real world.

I just did a search on this and found 94 posts on this and other threads from the O.P. regarding his Guitar.
This is not indicative of a rude and unhelpful bunch of people.
I read those threads and they were full of advice and suggestions some of which were flagrantly ignored in this last post.
In my opinion this is a somewhat disrespectful and will, at best be greeted with a little disinterest.
I do not find Sanaka 's comments to be rude.
If I repeatedly go to a Maestro for lessons unpractised, and without my music;
Is he being rude when he sends me home? I think not.
There is a difference between real and rude
Was I criticising the OPs playing and singing...NO
Would I like to hear his GUITAR recorded
with minimal fx and eq played next to a Martin D28
YES......back to the pizza [:Y:]

I have read several of the post as well , and have spoke with several people on pm , I have offered an apology to sanaka if i have misunderstood the intent of the comment. And that apology extends to any who felt my comments were " unwarranted".

I am here to take advice and welcome constructive critisim , some i have listened to some i have not . And YES this is by far the most WILLING forum I have ever seen to share ideas , suggestions , and technical advice . I CERTAINLY dont want anyone to feel that I think less of the group.

Dalester , I have encouraged you to continue your efforts , now I will encourage you to listen more to the advice being given .

Remember the wise proverb "kind of" laughing6-hehe When there is no skillful direction, the people fail; but there is sucess in the multitude of counselors.

WELLLLLLLLLLLL its somthing like that !! :D

I do not want to dis the OP and I have thought more than twice about responding, but I agree with the general sentiment here. To the OP, plz understand that the folks here just want to help. They are not terribly interested in being amazed. Your desired response requires years of effort. And a respect for the accomplishments and advice of the very fine and dedicated artisans working here. So, with the deepest respect I can muster, plz drop the "revolutionary" moniker and ask for serious criticism. I think you will be amazed by what u learn. That is, of course, if your ego can handle it.

Then again, anything is possible. U just might end up being the next Martin or Les Paul. Then, we mere mortals will have been given our "what for". ;)

Good post Mike! I agree and would add that the hallelujah could be dropped along with the revolutionary thing.

A simple thread titled -"My latest design idea for acoustic guitars" with a post describing the design problem and the rational for overcoming the problem along with some decent quality sound/Youtube clips would be very welcome.

Revolutionary and hallelujah with nothing to support it is not going to gain any respect.

So, to the OP, Dalester - Please try again with decent sound clips and a more reasonably humble tittle and you'll see a lot of support. This is a great forum with so many talented guys willing to spend a lot of their valuable time.

I think he was playing "Hallelujah" in the video, not all getting righteous on us. It would have been more obvious if he hadn't pulled the video before anyone'd even had time to see it.

Other than that, I echo the general sentiment here WRT hubris and revolution.

OK... wow... something happened here..

sorry, i had put up a video with the song "hallelujah.."
i listened to it in the morning after recording it and realized it was off pitch pretty bad, and the timing was bad too,
so i deleted the video...

i wasnt trying to say "hallelujah" about the guitar.. (i see how it could have looked that way.. DOH, sorry)

also, it wasnt me that said please dont comment, that was someone else, and im not sure why they said that..

I use the word revolutionary, only cause that is what people seem to remember from my tittle,
so i say that, instead of saying.. "remember back a year ago, i came up with this idea for a guitar thats really different"
cause that would be a long tittle...

:-)

anyway, hope this diffuses it self, as i was just posting a follow up vid, to my original post,
and the whole reason i even post on here, is cause of so many good ideas that come back...

sorry if any of these posts have made anyone feel uncomfortable or disrespected in anyway,
that was not the intent, and im not sure how they could. or how people could be "worn down" by the post
coming back up. seriously, I dont get that, and i dont mean to be rude, but i see so much crap every day,
miss-use of words, "magic eraser", "holy roller" etc etc, i can only imagine how those things must wear you down?

anyway, i mean no disrespect with that comment either, just trying to relate to how this idea, or my posts have worn someone down..
i really dont think anyone should be putting too much energy into this, certainly not to the point of wearing down..

anyway, this whole thread looks like it was a misunderstanding anyway, and maybe peoples back got up thinking I was saying something I wasnt,
or thinking that other poster was me?

It has been a year since you first posted? I didn't realize it had been that long.
What have you done in that time? Do you have new prototypes?
Please post a nice video of your guitar with some good audio.
Best wishes!
