Congratulations, indeed, to Rachel and her mentor. And in a week! Amazing!

Hahahaha, the guitar didn't take a week. I'm not sure how long the whole run was. But the final buffing, setup, fretting, etc. was this past week if I have heard correctly.

Oops, I misread. Still, pretty good stuff.

Congrats to Rachel, nice looking guitar. You do good stuff Todd, congrats to you also. Filippo, you may know this already but old Ham Radio operators may be a source of old tubes, 6L6's etc. Some of them are still hanging on to crystal sets they made as kids....!!!

Wohoo! Congrats on getting it done with some hours to spare [clap]
I wish I could be there tonight to hear it. But at least some sound samples would be nice, if you feel like recording any later :)

Thanks! Its fantastic, I'm beyond happy with it. Thank you soooooo much Todd for taking me on as a student, especially with what little woodworking experience I had. The build took considerably longer than a week, but time will be a focus on my next build, which I'm already geeking out about and can not wait to start. It sounds great, plays great....makes me wish I was a better guitar player! I think it's really cool too that I got it done right before this weekend, I'm expecting a humbling experiece in Hegins.

I'm sure there will be a ton of beautiful instruments but don't be afraid to show that guitar off at john's get together! gonna get a lot of encouragement and some helpful pointers im sure.

oh and i was gonna ask if that smile has left your face yet? such a great feeling that first time you can sit down and play your freshly completed guitar.

Absolutely beautiful... on both accounts.

I'm always amazed at some peoples 'first' guitars especially when they look better then my 40th guitar. I second the vote for closer pics of the rossette and FB inlay. Also,,, no back shots? Lets see that koa back too please :)

I saw this guitar at John's and it looks better in person than in pictures. Very nice guitar. Heard it played, and it has a good voice too. Masterful job all round! [clap] [clap] [clap]

I will second Waddy's comments and add that Todd must be a great teacher and Rachel certainly a very attentive student and both should be proud of the guitar.

Having had the opportunity to look at and play the guitar , i am so happy for her. Todd can be proud of his student. Nice clean work and a quality guitar. I am glad to see some young blood into the hobby. It is sweet and Rachel is such a sweet young thing. She is a sponge and just sucks up the information. Keep building , we want to see more from you Rachel.

I might mention that after a half day of instruction, she's also pretty good at the decorative carving thing!
