Bob Benedetto is offering a couple of 2 day masterclasses in September. I highly recommend these classes if you are able to attend. Mr. Benedetto is the leading authority on archtop guitars and a heck of a nice guy. More information is available on his website.

Yeah...whew!

I paid about $20 for his book. :)

I've just started my first guitar which is a 17" archtop. The top is about 1/3 done. I just sent my deposit in for the first Benedetto session. It's expensive but I hope it will be well worth it to get me on my way to my first build!

I was fortunate enough to be able to spend some time with Bob and Howard over at their shop recently and talk guitars. Both are really great people and truly know their guitars, especially Bob! Bob is a true master craftsman. I own one of his guitars, and it is truly a superb instrument. While I was there, I played probably 10 of his guitars and Bob was nice enough to look over one of the guitars I'd built and give me some feedback on it. It seems I have much to learn! Even though I have not yet tried my hand at archtop building, if I were in the area I would jump on this opportunity in a heartbeat. I hope some of you are able to seize this opportunity.
