Lance and I have recently become acquainted with these Port Orford Cedar tops and I really enjoy them. They are stiffer than WRC, light, have great tap tone and are a dream to work with. (They smell pretty spectacular too).

To let more folks try them we decided to run a dutch auction for these. For $50 we will send you a AAA quality top and is perfect in every way. (This is about 50% off regular price)

You really should try these, they are nice.

We only have 6 so you should grab them fast.

Correct.
After I send your tops I will bill you via paypal for the actual UPS Shipping costs.

Is that color accurate, Brock? It doesn't look like any POC I've seen.

Likely not, if Brock took the pictures. His white balance is off a bit to his shop light.

Actually Brock a Dutch auction is one where the price starts high and steadily reduces until a buyer is found. It's the system used in the flower auctions.

Ok, my terminology is bad I guess... but a Dutch auction here is going to be a "We have this many and when they are gone they are gone" auction.

I was borrowing the terminology from my early ebay days.

If you can discern the color of those tops, Howard, you have stupendous eyes.

Filippo

Merely a good monitor. The color is obvious. But thanks. I get compliments on my eyes a lot.

You may not have noticed that I am talking about the color of the photos. I have no idea if it represents the color of the tops.

Apparently not. According to the other thread you sent tops to the people in the "auction" after this one, and Brock has our tops.

I have sent out what I had, they went too

Zachary Ehley 2 sets
matthew jacobs 2 sets
Doug Powderll 2 sets
Bobthebuilder 2 sets

I have tracking numbers if anyone needs them.

This is my last auction here, I should have learned the last time. I know the "group string buy" is going to take some time. I can only hope I get them.

Woody,
Sorry for the messup, we ended up with a boat load of packages to send out with the POC auctions, so since they were all from the same batch, I picked 4 names (as I had 8 of the tops in my shop) and Brock took the balance. No ill intent was meant.

My apologies.

My 2 cents...

If an auction is put up every day and the auctioneer expects payment on the same day, then it should be reasonable to expect that the auctioneer would ship the same day or no later than the same week of the auction. If the auctioneer can't commit to that schedule then subsequent auctions should not go up until he can do so. To do otherwise in light of the bad morale that this has caused would be like rubbing salt in an already painful wound. To do otherwise would also confirm tone-deafness and a purposeful lack of concern for fellow members!

I haul off a big batch of boxes nearly every day to the UPS store. I know I am a little slow, but I always get there. I apologize for my tardiness.

So Brock, in that light, was one of those boxes a shipment of the POC that Kyle (and I) purchased?

If not - why?

If not - how soon?

I've got a guitar to build.

Thanks

Paul

I am a little stunned at what some of you are saying. I think the reason you feel that you say some of this stuff is because no one ever bops you on the head for it. That is, Brock and Lance are infinitely patient and appear to take a lot of abuse without repercussion. Most likely, that is their personalities. Just kind hearted folk. But please, lets stop this. It's not very pretty and it will most definitely give the new guys a bad impression of this group as a whole. Do you all want Lance & Brock to throw up their hands and say "forget it!"?? I might under this level of battering.

This ain't Amazon.com with same day shipping.

Mike [uncle]

PS: If some of you take that wrong and start in on my post, I intend this as my last comment on this ugliness. I wont respond.

Thanks Mike

On a very serious note, I have considered doing just that, pulling the plug.
The truth is after dealing with all the "issues" that go on hear, it sucks the inspiration
To build right out of me. 2009 was by far my least productive year as a guitar builder.
After dealing with all the nastiness here all day the last thing I feel like doing is building.

Sorry but that is how Ive been feeling for a long time now and if it come to a choice, olf or kragenbrink guitars, I have 21 customers waiting so I know which way I'll go.

By no means a threat, just a some personal insight.

Just about everything is out. I have a few more boxes to ship. And everything is packed.

I freely admit that I am a bit slow... but I am working on it. I do apologize for my tardiness.
