The headstock angle could be cut. It cuts 45 degrees in one direction and 15 degrees in the other. Depending on how you do your tenon, it could be cut as well. The neck block and the tail blocks are a given.

The fret board might require a fret barber for the fret wire, but it looks do-able.

Kerfed linings wouldn't require a jig. Check out the Squiggle Wood Video

Make reversed linings, regular linings or cap them.

The only part I'm not sure if they could be done would be long ripping cuts, like for the neck blank.

I want one, even at the 1200.00 sticker price. I lose a lot of shop time because of the noise factor.

I would love to make one myself, but with the possibility of using more sawblades (up to 5 to make kerfed linings).
Also for making tentellones, inlays and rosette mosaics would be a nice device.

I'm more interested in this that Howard mentioned in another discussion. http://www.bridgecitytools.com/Products ... +Kerfmaker
Other then the thin kerf I don't see any advantage of it over a table saw especially if I had a $1300 table saw which you can do a whole lot more with then that. I really don't want to be doing all that pushing and pulling especially when my back is sore. If I need a really thin cut I can always make a jig for the scroll saw or finish up with a japanese saw. I have a 1/16" X .027"kerf 24TPI bandsaw blade too.

i'm thinking of making one smaller with a back saw for making kerfed linings at a set depth.
i know it's sick to cut my own, but i do.

I stumbled on this thread looking for something else and thought everyone would appreciate a similar but DIY and sub $500 creation from a Ukulele making buddy of mine from Wales:

Completed with upgraded blade:

Pete has quite a collection of Youtube tutorials.

Ummm ...So after tinkin about it...

NO!...well maybe... OK... Yes...but gee dudes...its really a "NO way Ho-say" me mean like after 50 years me gonna change the wind in me ask~me~no ~questions on how to cut a board in half? NO!

But then perhaps some of you yunguns might get off on dis here new fangled method. Remember, to us old farts ...all change is heresy. So now what?

But then again ...long, long ago, in our not so distant future, when the electricity shot off , we had to use new fangle technology like this to get tings done. You dudes grocking what me layin down on yer brain cells?

Ya right...has another beer.

Here me is laying down 3d past, present, future, its all happenin in the now conceptualization and, yes please pass the church key, dis bottle is empty. Some time s me wonder why.

oh well

blessings
duh Padma
