Hey all,

Thinking about what to try next -- once I get the J45 and Size 5 done.... (Probably the right answer is a couple more J-45's and a couple more Size 5's...)

Thinking to myself how some guitar patterns just seem to be "Sleepers" -- Diamonds in disguise -- while others seem to have so much hype, but either never quite seem to really hit it right... or are totally finnicky -- you gotta hit it perfect.. and then it is amazing... otherwise, it isn't particularly impressive...

Anyway, I have fallen in love with the sound of the little Ditson 11 pattern -- Even though it looks like a lumpy little guitar... it has a totally amazing sound for its size...

Also, it seems to make no sense to make *Every* pattern in the whole book... The best thing would probably be to try to really get good at making 3-4 different size guitar patterns rather than aim at doing a reasonable job with 22...

What patterns do you guys really like?

Thanks

John

John-
You are asking which 'shapes' for steel-string guitars are favorites, or which sets of plans are favorites, or ...both?

Cheers
John

I got it through a "Build Along" on another forum..
The story goes that it originally came from Martin to William Cumpiano and then worked its way to the board somehow or another....

Any chance there is a copy of that Laskin plan somewhere? I can't say I have ever heard about it.

On my question -- it was kinda vague on purpose... I guess you could take it to mean shape/outline... Especially since everyone here fiddles around with bracing endlessly....

Thanks

John

Represents number of posts...walnut for folks just joining and BRW for truly ridiculous numbers of posts.

I think of those 'wood labels' as the 'get a life reminder', but it's obviously not working for me!
