Thanks Steve. You can't see it in this poor pic but I backed the soundhole (prior to cutting of course :D) with a .07 thick mahogany piece with the grain perpendicular to the sides.

Here's what I've been doing lately. I've done four of these do date.
Just to prove the "there's nothing new under the sun" adage... I thought this was unique, but I saw one very like it on this forum several months ago. The other guy (can't remember who it was) had his oriented across the grain, rather than along it, but otherwise, it was very similar.

Edit... Sorry about the huge pic. This is my first attempt to put in an image... I'll figger it out for the next one.
