I am purchasing a bending machine from Blues Creek. I do not have time to build my own. My trip to thailand for R&R got canceled due to political turmoil in Bangkok. Bummer. Anyways I am going to be heading home to upstate, NY instead and I want to start building a guitar. I've decided to go ahead and buy a machine now, so that when I get home it is there and ready to go. However I am not sure if I should go with the universal side bender or the standard bending machine?

I plan on building Venetian & Florentine cutaways eventually. For now I am just going to build a standard. Can the standard side bender be easily altered for building cutaways later, or should I just spend the extra $90 and go with the universal bender. One advantage of the universal bender is that it comes with a cutway bending pattern, which I wouldn't have to build/purchase later.

Anyone have any advice? I am planning to order it tomorrow.

thanks,
Joey

I'd give John Hall (Bluescreek) a call. I'm sure he'll advise you on the option that fits your needs.

the bender can be upgraded at anytime. The hole for the cutaway ram is on all the frames for that reason. If you want to get the ram but don't know what cutaway you want , we allow you to choose a 2nd standard patter and you can do buy or make the cutaway pattern when you need it.
thanks for the interest
john
