Back now from the Miami show, and thought I'd better check on this thread---glad I did!

Bill, why thankee there, pardner! We shore 'preciate them kind words.

Christoph--many thanks sir! I think the 'burst turned out quite well also...and I can say that because I did not do it, Tony Ferguson did.
I'll let him know (again) he did well!

Dave, Dave, Dave--you mean I flew three thousand miles ( ) , and you couldn't come 3?
Well.
Someone from human resources will be paying you a visit realll soon.
But whatever he says, all will be overlooked due to your kind remarks above. Good to hear from you, and thanks!

Steve

Hey Mike, the show was fine, with a few interesting wrinkles thrown in that Healdsburg didn't attempt. Mainly, the final concert on Sunday evening was simply amazing. Muriel Anderson, Kinloch Nelson, Michael Chapdelaine, Phil Keaggy, Lawrence Juber et al on one stage? Jeepers...what a show!
Didn't sell anything, but got one order from a fellow who absolutely loved this little parlor guitar. Only--he wanted a narrower neck (hand issues). And no, I didn't get to A/B our two guitars.
By the way, would you put a cutaway on a little 12 fret like this?
(This question came up.)

Steve -I would'nt want to put a cutaway on one of these little babies.
It would just remove to much airspace (air volume) .
The box would have to be much deeper to make up for the lost air -pumping .

Plus the looks-those little gitars look great the way they are !
No need to bring them into the 21st century.
would you agree?

Mike
Glad you had safe travels and a good time.

Thanks Mike. Yes indeed, I do agree.
In fact, the guy who was discussing this with me was having a war with himself. On one hand he thought those lines were perfect.
Loved everything about it.
On the other "hand", he has trouble with his left hand. (Too bad we don't have three hands...) He wants this guitar with a slimmer neck, tighter radius on the fretboard, and a shallow cutaway. Also, he asked if we could put a 14 fret neck on it. (!) After awhile, it's just becoming a different guitar. The main thing holding him back I believe is that the sound would be altered, and he just couldn't abide that change.

Anyway, it's nice to have backup when I speak with him again--so, thanks for the support!

Steve

Whooee! That sure is an eye popper! I really love the retro look. Such a gem! Well done Bro! [clap] [clap] [clap] [uncle]
BTW, how did you do that rosette? Is that a mastic background around the pearl?

Hey bro, thanks! If I can pass the KBE test, I feel like I haven't done half bad.
No mastic on the rosette--that's a ring of black veneer set into the top, and then the pearl pieces are inlaid into that black veneer.
An extra step, I know, but it's a cleaner approach.
Plus, 100 years from now, I won't have to worry about the guitar coming back with a crumbling rosette.
