You gotta say what you are doing, and then maybe we can tell you.

What happens when you try?

The basic steps I use are...
1. Below the message box (and below the preview, submit, etc. buttons), there's a box that says "filename" next to it, and has a browse button. Browse for your file there.
2. Push the "add the file" button just below that, and the page should do a quick reload.
3. Push the "place inline" button, which appears below the message box after the reload, unless it doesn't like the file.

Nothin' to it, provided the file is good. It puts a little message somewhere after the reload if the file was bad. I know .jpg works, but it was either .gif or .png that didn't work when I tried it. Probably .png, since it's less common.

I'll bet the issue is file size. There are size restrictions for photos. If you can reduce the size of the picture, it should work (I forget size restrictions, but I generally make sure photos are under 200k in size).

What Glenn said. Its the number one issue. Use a free tool like Gimp to resize the photo until it comes in under the file size limits imposed by the admins of this board. then it will load.

I always use Img to link to the photos I store on PhotoBucket.

The only bad thing about using the "IMG" file is that it is bad for the archives if a link ever changes. Since the forum hosts images, it's better to upload from your computer, then the archives remain good even if you decide to dump your photobucket account.
