I use 1/8 by 3/8 CF rods in my guitar necks. The cut off portion is just about the size of a saddle. This led me to wonder if any of you have tried CF rod as a saddle or nut?

There are no properties of a CF laminate that I can think of which would make it suitable as a nut. It will most likely wear quicker and abrade strings, it's not particularly hard, and it probably has a lot of damping. I don't see how a high tensile strength could help?
