Corky, thanks for answering the question about the back stiffness/thickness.

I asked as I've been pondering the idea that a "loose" non-stiff back, that may create a nice enveloping sound, may contribute to a muddy tone (I'm sure there are other contributing factors.......but perhaps this could be one of them). I'm wondering if a thicker, stiffer back may produce a more focused sound with better seperation. Likely either method could be used in an overall design to shape a particular tone.......and other design elements could be tweaked for either method to be used successfully. Don't we all wish we knew where all roads lead? duh
