Hey Guys , finally finished #1. My first attempt at photos. Hope they all show well.
Anyway, all wood except the Sitka top & ebony fretboard were "mined" from my shop. Back & sides are Curly Maple with Curly Walnut bindings & bridge. Nitro finish & Grover tuners.

Thanks for looking.
Don

Nice one Clutch, finish looks excellent. What are the rest of the woods? Looks a bit like Maple B + S.
Congrats, more power to your elbows!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Thanks for the feedback. John, I am getting ready to start spraying the nitro
on build #2. It's a knock-off of a Taylor GA. Curly Walnut with ebony bindings.

So far it's looking very sharp. Pics in a few weeks

Thanks again, Don

Congrats Don - very nicely done. I am usually not a fan of 3 piece backs but I like the one you did here - nicely done!

Nice guitar, Don!
Fess up, man. How many did you burn to get this good? (guitars, that is)
I have the same combination of woods set back for "someday", because I wasn`t really sure how it would be accepted.
You sure have made an excellent first guitar!

Very nice. I love the binding, the back, and the understated sound hole rosette.
