Here's in RE: a request to see a close up of the armrest of my "last 2 builds" post.
I tried to put a simple cup shape design in peghead/bridge and armrest to have 3 components with a design similarity. 3 is the magic number in design. I learned that a LOOOOOONG time ago....and it's true.
Here's my attempt to get a closeup with a lousy camera.

Kent,
That looks really sweet. How high above the top is the horn of the armrest sitting?

The highest crown point of the armrest above the soundboard is 5/16. I hollowed the backside back within 1/16 +/- of the binding for a good strong 3/16 to 1/4 glue surface. I also carried the black/white from binding around the front of the armrest so the binding detail didn't get lost with attachment of the armrest. The black/white binding line continues on instead of stopping at the armrest. Looks planned....instead of just attaching a armrest.

It is my own armrest design. No other design influenced me...but since I've only been a guitar builder for less than a year....my guess is....it's been used before.....or something near it.

I'm going to take a couple pictures from the treble side as soon as the batteries recharge.

Kent

Here's a couple shots from the East side. Had to wait for morning sun don't cha know.
Kent

There is a hollowed space underneath the armrest back to within about 1/8 of the binding...making a 3/16 to 1/4 glue surface. With the curve of the body, that gave ample support for the armrest..

Very clean looking design there Kent! And I like the way this doesn't take any of the soundboard territory away.
