Yes, and I though it was on the not-spam side of the line for a luthier. Follman is a legit dealer.

Rick, I didn't say it was junk - but when I get unsolicited e-mail from a foreign country from someone trying to sell expensive CITES materials and they can't even be bothered to have someone correct their English - it makes me suspicious. YMMV...

aloha,

Okay, I get to tell my favorite "broken English" story. I used to work in a bicycle factory. We got all sorts of promotional materials from Taiwanese companies that wanted us to use their products. Rarely was the English correct, and often it was humorous. The best ones got posted on the bulletin board. One day, a particularly inscrutable one went up, and a bunch of the guys were standing around laughing at it. There was a picture of a young couple walking together over a bridge. The young man was pushing a bicycle, and there were fourteen lines of text that began, "From fairest creatures we desire increase" , and got more puzzling from there on. (Somebody's already chuckling.) I looked at it too, and it seemed to me that this was a little different from the others. "It's kind of poetic", I said. This really brought down the house. I felt like an idiot sending it to a family friend who teaches poetry. "Am I crazy, or does whoever wrote this have some kind of sense of the rhythms of our language?", I asked. He didn't make me feel like any less of an idiot. "That's the first poem in Shakespeare's sonnet series", he replied.

Still, I'm pretty sure that rosewood spam isn't Shakespeare.

Speaking of broken english... funny enough (and please don't take this as a flaming-atempt) although my grammar and spelling are far from perfect (I'm portuguese), I do notice a lot of grammar-kicking and mispelling around here, every now and then. Is it my impression that there's a reasonable amount of english-speaking folks who don't hone their grammar as much as their lutherie skills?

Oh, and sorry for the off-topic bit.

I didn't receive that email, btw. But thanks for posting, David.

Cheers

In my case, I think you're wrong. Honing's not going to do the trick. My grammar needs at least a 300 grit diamond stone, and my spelling needs to go back to the bench grinder.
