Come on guys - a two page thread about the weather?

Seriously though, speaking as someone living in that other hemisphere, the stories are intriguing and the photos are fascinating.

Cheers

30" in North Potomac, just down the road a bit from you Todd. It took me and the Hauri boyz 3 hours to clear the driveway - WITH a snowblower.

Stay safe, warm, and happy east coast OLFers and if you can send any of that snow my way please do! [:Y:]

Sorry, I couldn't resist. This is what's outside my patio workshop in Harlingen, Texas. The patio outside my home workshop in Minneapolis is just like all the other snowbound workshops. That's why I'm in Texas for the winter.

30" of snow on the ground, and another 10-20" coming today. The record for the metro DC area is 56" in one year - we could see 50" this week.

Epic.

 Thats just how it goes... we have spent a fortune on snow removal the last few years and we finally get a great big blower and have used it all of maybe 4 times this winter... unheard of in these parts.

I will do my snow dance for you. :D

It's official - Snowmageddon - the heaviest snow on record for metro DC area, as long as such records have been kept here (past 126 years).

I'm right there with you other Maryland guys (I'm just north of Annapolis, in Crownsville)...this is reportedly the most snow the state has gotten since they started keeping track in the late 1800's. I have a bunch of guitars that need building...and a bunch of parts to draw...but that dang shovel keeps calling me! :D

It will be spring before you know it....and the snowfalls then are sure to be less than a foot. Hang in there and stay safe!

All I can say is that for those that like SNOW , I can tell you that it looses it's appeal after you shovel a few 100 tons .

That's because you are in the farthest, most southern part of Texas :)

I'm in Dallas, 3" of snow this morning and 4" to 8" more coming for the day, then ice tomorrow. I know it's nothing like the rest of you North and East of Texas. :(
I feel for you guys.

So if you are not familiar with the Great state of Texas? Dan is like in Atlanta and I'm in DC, distance wise.

Where's Al Gore so I can kick him in the posterior? Global Warming my behind. :)

Have a nice day all.

I just looked outside and it's snowing in NW Louisiana. While I'm here, I would also like to congatulate the Nawlins Saints on their winning the Super Bowl.
Dallas Cowboys in 2010!

...and I've been in Dallas when its been 100°F at midnight. Texas must be the most bipolar state ever.

Yep, I've been through many of those types of nights Erik. :)

here's a pic of the house this morning, only ended up with about 7" of snow.

Still a problem here since Texas is not prepared for this. Many Power outages due to broken tree limbs and lines down. I've been without power now 17 hours and expect to be about 24 more. Thank Goodness for my Generator and Transfer switch. I have heat and lights throughout the house :)
I did have to rig up a heatgun to the SAT dish though to keep the ice and snow off so we could get TV [:Y:]

Take care all and stay warm up there.

Mike

Just started snowing here. Hope it doesn't turn into one of your type blizzards! Not likely!

I can see the snow from my shop. We keep it in the mountains where it belongs.

I don't know what you guys are thinking. Why would you live in a place like that? idunno

Yeah, about 10% humidity right now - and 6 months from now it will be 95° with 95% humidity for a month straight.

*Great* place to build guitars. idunno

We got about 2" here in Columbus, Georgia today. Wow, doesn't happen here very often. I swear they were talking about closing all traffic coming into Fort Benning...lol
