I don"t do much in the way of repair (except my own) unless its desperate and not on something of much value. This is the second neck repair that someone wants me to do. Not an expensive guitar but only one he has and uses it almost daily. At first I thought to use thin super glue and make it quick but I would like opinions. It is cracked mostly along the original glue line. Should I unbolt the neck to seperate it from the body to protect the body from excess glue? Hide glue the best option?

I'd un-bolt the neck and inspect further, with the reasons being you don't know the condition of the tenon and re-glue + clamping will be made so much simpler with the neck removed. Once you've inspected the damage more thoroughly you'll be able to make your repair decision and then re-install the neck to it's original configuration.

Hide glue

Fish glue will give you more open time, FWIW. But yes, hide glue would be my choice

Fish glue has poor penetration properties and you don't really need a long open time. Hot hide glue would be the way to go. But if this crack falls directly on a lamination, you might have problems with adhesion due to the presence of the old glue.

If the fret board tongue is glues down I wouldn't bother removing the neck. If you can open that crack up then I would just use Tightbond and maybe a little water in the crack to bleed the glue deep inside. Cyano is also a good option IMO, I've used it many times for such repairs especially when it's hard to open up the crack. Tightbond is really easy to clean up.
