1/2inch 4 ft $30 fluorescent unites from the local grow op store and some 100 w incandescent bulbs

works fine fore me till sun set and the light shifts and the eyes adapt (about an hour) and then me good to go all night, every night, MaryAnn.

In my shop I use 4 ea. 2 lamp, 4 ft. Daylight T-8's on a white ceiling which brightens up my small garage like Walmart. Having them hardwired into a wall switch makes it a lot nicer than when I was using the hanging types with the pull chains.
If ever build a larger shop I will be sure to include lots of windows and a couple of sky-lights.
BTW, where is all this snow I keep reading about? I never see any snow here in Looweezeeanna! laughing6-hehe

Very timely subject.

I just received a call from my local energy provider and was told I qualify for a Power Savings Blitz program. I should be able to get all my shop lights converted over to T8's with electronic ballasts at no cost (up to $1000).
