My goal is to have fun and do a great job on my current orders. Beyond that...I guess it's to just keep having fun and the end 2010 with the same number of fingers that I have now..! :D

ah hesh, always asking the tough questions!! i love this annual thread.

now that we've moved and i'm nearly in my new shop and nearly finished my 8 month hiatus from building i resolve to finish #10 (which is 95% done), and get back in to my groove. as much as i miss completing a guitar or two, i think i miss time spent in the workshop even more.

Happy New Year everyone, what a great community of people you are; here are my resolutions:

1. make no mistakes when I build. (everyone has one they can't keep)
2. build more jigs so I make less mistakes
3. read more threads here so I learn from other peoples mistakes
4. stop complaining when I make mistakes
5. stop pointing out my mistakes
6. enjoy life to it's fullest bliss

Happy New year everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tim

Happy New Year to everyone.

I just want to continue building and playing guitars. If my building remains as enjoyable next year as the last 4 years I will be very happy.

Maybe I should resolve to spend less money on tools and Tone Wood, but that is not really going to happen if I can help it.

Fred

Shane and I are in a race to see who will get their first done, hopefully this year.

Who knows, maybe this year will be the year.

Happy New Year to you Hesh and all the good folks on the forum. My resolution is to try and get thru a build that I`m completely happy with, and to make sure I`m happy with each step in the building process before I move on to the next.I`ll probably never complete another guitar in my life? :? On a personal note, keep focused on what`s really important in life.
James

Happy New Year, everyone. This is such a great community of people.

Hesh, good to see you back on this forum.

For 2010, I want to complete at least 4 guitars, and learn to use waterbase
lacquer with the Fuji HVLP I got last year. Also continue to develop my skills
with the Chaldni patterns and wood strength characterizations, so I can
(hopefully) put a little more science and consistency into my guitars.

Actually I'm not... but I can still resolve, can't I? :D

My goal is to keep all 10.
Not good so far as I almost took 1/8" completely off the pad on my left thumb today. Silly accident with a jigsaw, but stopped the bleeding and avoided emergency $$$.
I think that should be everyone's primary goal...

Hesh -

Thanks for the nudge - I definitely need a couple of new year's resolutions. Here's mine.

Document my progress. Take better notes so I don't make the same mistakes twice.
Finish that "sonic" guitar in time for the unveiling.
Work smarter, and keep the shop neater - fewer dings on completed guitars (ouch).

Mine is to take no commissions this year and build 3 show guitars and a few standard and student models up in advance to have on hand. Spend less time in the shop and more time with the grandkids.
