Has anyone used the Lamalone from InlayUSA.
Some questions I have are:

1) How does it look?
2) How does it compare to other sheet on the market?
3) Can it be cut on a bandsaw?

Thanks,

Tim

I've not seen the stuff, but the way it's made doesn't give me great faith in the look VS a laminated shell blank. They say that it's a shell veneer with a pour of resin on top and a pour on the back, so it's a paper-thin piece of pearl with a plastic sheet on either side. I can see the utility of being able to bend the stuff for some kinds of work.

I was pretty unimpressed with the flagrant misinformation, though. They make it sound like cutting shell at home is roughly equal in legality to running a meth lab, and there's not a guitar company on this continent using their product...

I was merely trying to add a different color and tone to the very subtle and refined exposition provided by Sir Garrish.
That said, the mis-info is completely made up, pathetic, fear tactics trash to try to get beginners to be afraid of working with anything other then their product.
I am also completely blown away with how he calls Larry R and Harvey L "contract artists" as if they sell out for anything at any time. !@#()_(*&^&{PO_((^!!!!!

I would write more, but it would take up all the sites bandwidth, and I might lose my subtlety.
I always try to be VERY PC around forums, but with this topic it's hard..
He's dissing two of the very people I hold highest.

  pfft pfft pfft gaah gaah :x :x

here is a gem from their site...

"Processing full thickness inlay blanks is now illegal in Non-EPA unregulated locations"

...not sure what it means.

It means if you go to the beach, pick up a shell, take a little sandpaper to it, or possibly break it, the government will fly in with helicopters, confiscate the material, close the beach, send you to the hospital as if you had the Ebola virus, quarantine your next of kin, and the headline news would be all over it. Then they would raid your house and declare all beaches and marine areas toxic to life on earth, traveling to Florida or any coast town would be illegal, and all trade in instruments with any type of inlay at all would be declared illegal.

This is what happens in an "unregulated" world such as the internet. I ain't saying it should be regulated, but I am saying if you are that foolish, others are waiting.
The net is a scary and wonderful place, full of the most information, and disinformation known to man.

Be educated and be aware... :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek: :geek: :geek:

So they pay you half to take it from them? Pretty good deal.

Tim

Tim,

Your IP address has been noted, a trace to you home meth, er, I mean shell lab is in progress. The proper authorities, FDA, FBI, FTD, BLM, ATF, Homeland Security, and the Federal Bureau of Shell and Inlay have been notified. May god have mercy on your soul, and may "Bubba", your future cellmate, have mercy on the rest of you.

Dennis
