This is a polaroid land camera doo-hicky.

The "stand" that you are using is (I think) from a Polaroid MP4 copy camera. It originally carried a dual head, 4"x5" Polaroid camera, of the type that was used for document and photo copying, as well as for passport photos. A search for "copy camera" or "Polaroid MP4" on places like Craigslist or Kijiji might produce results if someone wants to find one. I just scrapped an MP4, but I kept the base and post for use as a copy camera stand for my 8"x10" Agfa, and I sold the lenses and have the bellows/racks for sale as variable focal length pinhole camera bodies. The posts are spring loaded to assist in raising whatever is mounted to them. Most "large format" enlargers are constructed on the same principle, so if you see an advert for a 4"x5" or bigger photo enlarger, it would likely serve the same function.

cheers

John

edit : I know this is an old thread, but maybe this info will be useful....

Ok....I see a run on used dental chairs. When those are all gone, I expect the car bay hydrolic lifts will be next.....and a bigger shop.
One extra with the chair still in place would be handy for my regular afternoon nap.
Very cool .
