In anticipation of some new logs becoming avaialbe I am offering 2A Lutz Spruce Top Sets in packages of 10 for $200 USD per package. I need space for the new wood and more money means that I can get more of this high quality wood. The beauty of this deal is that once this wood is gone, the prices are going up and these sets, in packages of 10, will be $280 USD (my prices have not changed since 2006).

All of the tops will be sawn from two trees, here is a sample set from each:

These trees have been down for about two years. There will likely be some colour in many (maybe even most) of the sets and the usual 2A stuff, like some knot shadow and the like, but there will also be some sets that are pretty close to 3A as well.

So here is the deal, I will start to process these sets in two days. I will then finish dry them for a few days and start to package them. That could take up to 4 weeks or so (if it is longer I will let you know). I will have 40 or 50 of these packages available and I am advertising them on this Board and on the ANZLF and LuthierCom. It will be first come first served. But I am looking for payment in advance on this deal and that secures your place in the queue. The terms are $200 for the wood, shipping is another $32 by post to the USA (other destinations will vary). Once shipped from here it takes about 2 weeks to arrive (in the US). Payment is either by paypal to my e-mail address, shane@highmountaintonewood.com, or you can pay by visa or mastercard by e-mail or phone. Once I have your sets ready to ship, they will ship and I will send you an e-mail confirming they are on their way to you. So be sure I have your shipping address and e-mail address.

I hope this a great deal for all!

Thanks

Shane

I'm broke and I have lots of tops, so I won't be jumping on this one. For everyone else... Shane grades his tops very conservatively, and I bet many if not most of these tops would get a couple of more A's from some vendors. Highly recommended!

What's the deal? Is that Shattered Glass or Fuzzy Bear Lutz?
Couldn't resist. Check out "tonewood" on EBay.

How wide are they Shane? If you can throw in a few that are a least 8 1/2" I'm in.

I'm in for one Shane. I will pm you for payment details etc.... Thanks for doing this!

For anyone wondering about quality and price, there really is no comparison I don't think. I had ordered 20 sets for work about a year ago and some of them were amazing tops in every way. Not one of them was a dud.

Here is a guitar built with the packing wood from my first purchase with Shane. By packing wood I mean the wood used to pack around the wood I paid for. Crazy. Todd posted a similar photo a while ago:

Shane,
I'll take a set of 10 if you don't mind.

I've a couple of questions on dimensions. They should all be 22 x 8.5 x .1875. They are rough sawn when shipped but take very little to clean up.

Thanks

Shane

Wow -

Great testimonials from the group - and Burton's picture guitar is stellar - expecially if that's your "scrap" !

I'm in for one set of 10, Shane. Been wanting to try our your Lutz for awhile. I guess that's my Christmas present to myself. :)

You should have my Paypal payment now.

Regards,

If you are new to Shane's products, I would like to add you can trust him to send you the best, and normally better than you expect. He lives a LONG way from us in the lower 48, so be patient with the mail service. It always gets here. I might also add that it would behoove you to purchase some of his rough brace stock. I love the stuff, carves and shapes like butter. Great tonal qualities. I do notknow how much he promotes that, I just ask him to send me several pounds of the stuff when I need it. You will love working with his Lutz.

Thanks Shane, you are a great OLFer!

Mike

Shane - I'd like a 10 pack too, and some bracewood too. I'm sending a separate PM about that.
