If anyone is looking for a set of chisels at a good price, I was just at the Hartville Tool web site and saw that they had a nice 6 piece set of MHG chisels on clearance for $49.42 (regular $109.93). The set includes 6mm, 10mm, 12mm, 16mm, 20mm, and 26mm. They also have the individual chisels on clearance as well (around $8 to $10 each).

Those look like my Narex chisels from Highland Hardware.

Narex chisels are made in the Czech Republic and are hardened to RC 59. The MHG chisels are made in Germany and are hardened to RC 61, just as the Two Cherries and Hirsch chisels are.

Hartville Tool also has a 100 piece set of rare earth magnets on sale (45 - 1/4", 30 - 3/8", and 25 - 1/2") for $15.98 (regular $39.99). Some folks have mentioned using magnets for jigs and clamping, so thought I would mention that as well.

If that is the case then $50.00 sounds like a bargain. Might have to pony up the $$.

I got the chisels in from Hartville Tool yesterday and was very pleased with them. They need to sharpen as most new chisels do, but they were very nice. In addition to the set of 6, I got a couple of spare 20MM and 26MM chisels, since those are the ones I use the most. This way, I will always have spare sharpened chisels on hand.
