Up for grabs this time is a heavily quilted set of sapele + a AAA Engelmann top. Both are big enough to build a dreadnaught. The sapele is right off the saw so a bit of shellac was applied to show off the figure.

The combined retail value is $310. Bidding will go through tomorrow at noon, or you may buy it now and get free domestic shipping for $250.

Thanks as always for your support.

I was having problems getting them loaded. It looks like the 3rd time was the charm. ;)

The top is thick. My guess is at least 3/16"

The back and sides are .150". The resawing is good though I am pretty sure you could clean this up and be in the .110" - .125" range.

No, the buy it now is still good. However there is no reserve on this. If this closes for $150 then that is the price, but the BIN is valid throughout.

I will tweak the next one a bit to try to accomodate some of these suggestions. Honestly, I am not trying to make this harder, I thought the BIN option gave the overseas members a better shot since many of them are unable to be online when these close.

Brock. I am so sorry for bringing this up again, but why is there a buy it now ? . It totally takes away the fun of an auction. really, it turns it into a non auction as it is the same as selling a set in a regular way !! Only when you put up a set that not many really wants, then it will be some bidding in this way. Just dont get it. If you want to sell a set why not just post a "set for sale for so and so under retail. !!!

Again, sorry for being a pain. but I just dont get it !!

Lars.

Lars, you've been heard, and Brock said he'll continue working on the format.

Brock,
Have you considered using eBay for your auctions? It's accessible to everyone and the bidders always have the option of using "sniping" software to do their bidding when they are not close to the computer. That's what I do. I just program the software to put my highest bid in at the close of the auction, and if I get it, great. If not, oh well.
The Zootman uses eBay quite a bit. And some of the other tonewood companies do the same. The only drawback is a small commission that you have to pay eBay. Just a suggestion.

Theoretically, this auction should be over, right? laughing6-hehe

If not, then since I just bid the BIN number and Steve used and improper bid increment, I win. pfft

For $251, you don't get free shipping, but I do. ;)

$250

It was my intention, by bidding higher than the BIN price, to leave the bidding open. I guess the jokes on me. I pm'ed this to Lance. I'll be happy if I win the auction with this bid. If the bidding stays open, I will be equally happy. Ball in Lance and Brocks court.

That was what I was getting at. And no, I do not think the joke is on you. I am pretty sure you qualified for free shipping too. [:Y:]
