I have a couple of potential customers that want guitars with sinker redwood tops.....anyone know where I can get some? All I have in my stash are a nice pair of ancient redwood tops that, as it was told to me, came from the joists of an olde barn that was torn down on a ranch up in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Cheers,
Dave F.

Thanks Mike,
Yes Rick has Sinker Redwood and has been an OLF sponsor for quite a while now, since March of this year!

Here is a set I have gotten from Rick,

Wow, nice guitars chaps!! I love the stripy look of the sinker redwood. I can see why people are asking for it now. Thanks for the pointers - I'll give Rick a shout first.

Cheers,
Dave F.

I got a sinker redwood top from Tom Thiel at the ASIA Symposium that he said came from Rick. It looks a lot like the one Lance shows here. The tap tones are UNBELIEVABLE. Unlike anything I've ever heard in a top. Very much like a rosewood, actually - a very glassy ring, very lively, very musical, very... WOW. I would think it would make quite a difference in the tone of the finished guitar. I haven't yet played or heard a guitar made with this stuff. What are you guys hearing in the guitars with these tops?
