The two Mandos are going real slow. These are some shots of the small one.

Pearlescent Mica pigments on low relief carving of spalted, wormy birch ribs and lutz top.

Was hoping to gold leaf the relief carvings however the quality of my carving headspace at the time just don't justify it... although the tap tones of the body with the Tone Generating plate on the inside are incredible....For the full scoop on this build visite my two mando builds thread....

I didn't know you were such a talented Luthier !!!

Nice job on those little flowery things, I don't think I have saw such nice carvings on this forum before.

Thanks for sharing your work and knowledge.

James Lindley,
Pretty nice work on your mandolin. Welcome to the OLF too. Notice you're from Carmi, just a couple hours away. I'm from Herrin, IL. but am now at Ft. Benning, Georgia.

Holler at me if you would like to get together sometime. There is a an other guy down this way name George "Woodman" Beckwith that dreams of guitars too. He and I now own a 21" bandsaw and have plans on resawing some local wood to build with.
