Hello all,
I am making a template for routing the edges of ebony finger board out of delrin on a CNC machine at work. I have had a hard time doing it by hand with the plane getting the taper perfectly symetric. I am also going to add 1mm holes to mark the fret spacing on it and 2 1mm holes on center at the 1st and 11th frets for locating pins. I will also machine grooves on the other side so I can use it as a clamp when I glue the fingerboard on. Do you folks think this is a good approach or not? If it works out I will have a better looking fingerboard. Thanks!

Most have better hand tool skills than I do. I have a long particle board with sandpaper glued to it. I run the deges on the fingerboard over that to get them dead flat. I think routing runs the risk of chipping ebony.
