I have used Zpoxy a while back and was under the impression that the goal was to get it as a base finish. With this approach and having sanded through the Zpoxy I got a good deal of blochiness.

Since then and following posts I am understanding that you apply Zpoxy to fill pores and then sand it back to bare wood removing all the zpoxy on the surface and leaving the pores filled.

Three questions

1. Am I correct in that you apply and then sand back till you have what appears to be bare wood again?

2. What should the finishing sand grit be? I am planning 320 and then finishing with poly

3. Does one coat/session usually do the trick or do you have to repeat and do a second session?

Thanks all for your advise.

Just went to place order on LMI and lo and behold, there were the instructions. Sounds like I need to apply, sand and the apply a second and possibly a thinned third session (thinned with alcohol). They suggest final sand with 400 and I guess I do not sand all the way back as I originally thought which means I also need to make sure I dont sand through the final coat. Also suggested that a coat of shellac be applied on top of the poxy before finishing. (Robbie O'Brien recommendation)

Still open to insights if you have any beyond what I have noted here.

Thanks again
