Hi guys,

First of all I hope this introduction thread is in the good place, but I found no special post about it, so I came where I'm gonna spend most of my time here.

Now, let's introduce myself.
I'm Florian, 27 years old and as told before, I'm living in Northern France, around Boulogne sur Mer for those who know France.
I've been a joiner for 4 years, before I decided to study guitar making. After having made 50% of a guitar, I joined Newark College (UK) classical guitar making course. This 2 years course was a real pleasure and as I finished it I've had the huge luck to be offered a job by the french guitar maker Benoit de Bretagne. Since 1 year now I work with him, making acoustic guitars (classical, steel strings, gypsy and ukuleles) and repaired any strung instrument.
I've made 4 guitars so far. My first one, a steel string cedar/sapele guitar that I made mainly after work when I was a joiner is not too bad, but not too good either :)
Then I made 3 guitars in Newark : 2 classicals and 1 flamenca.
#2 European spruce, indian rosewood Torres style :

#3 European spruce, spanish cypress Barbero flamenca style

# 4 European spruce, french walnut Bouchet style

And the one I'm making when I've got time at the moment, a caucasian spruce/apple tree OM :

So, that's all for the moment. Looking forward to discuss guitar making here

Hi Florian, welcome.

Very nice work, I like the rosettes. But I have to ask the question - whats up with the smashed up guitar that I see through the window?

Hi everybody !
Thanks indeed for this nice welcome !

SteveSmith, the smashed up guitar is one that a customer brought once to be repaired, but when my boss told him the cost for the repair, he realized that it was a lot lot more than his value, so he gave him and now it's a kind guitar cemetery decoration :)

Chas Freeborn, I grew up in a tiny town not too far from Brittany (where Dinard is) but now I'm living in the north, about 7 hours away. Your french is not perfect but honestly not bad at all... and as my english is not perfect either... :)

Flori F., I'm glad to see taht our nice name is used in USA as well, I didn't think so, but it's a good news :)
Jojobilou, et un forum de plus en commun, un ! :)
