I just bought a 6 inch jointer from Grizzly that they had on sale for 239. It was a bit of work putting it together as I thought the manual could have been a bit more specific in how to do things.

The fence is not quite at 90 degrees with the bed. The manual, again, is a bit vague on how to adjust the fence. I believe this jointer is a knock off of the Delta JT-360.

I am looking for somewhere that I can get a manual for the Delta JT-360 to see if it gives more details about adjusting the fence. I tried doing a search on the internet but didn't get a hit for the manual. Does anyone know where I can find the Delta JT-360 manual on line?

Maybe, someone also has the Steelex St1001 jointer and can also tell me how to adjust the fence.

Either way I would appreciate some help or thoughts you might have.

Thanks,
Chuck

http://edge.woodstockint.com/manuals/st1001_m.pdf

see page 30..looks to me like it is typical of any tool with adjustments and has lock screws/bolts for exact positioning of items...

I am not sure from the manual exactly how to adjust this. The plunge screw could be one of two. Also I am not sure if I am supposed to turn something once I have the set screw loose or if I am to just set the fence by hand and then check it with a square.

So I was hoping to find a manual for the Delta JT-360 so I might be able to get a better picture or more directioins as to exactly how I adjust the fence.

Thanks for your help,
Chuck

the only time I ever adjusted a jointer fence was a 'simple' case of loosening the set screw and moving the fence then setting the angle indicator to zero...since it was a rather old and dirty unit I had to use a rubber mallet to tap the fence where I wanted it to go...

Thanks for the help. After downloading the manual and going back out and looking at it again I figured out there were two set screws and not one like the manual was referring to. After loosing both set screws on the piviting arm I was able to just move the fence and using a square I was able to get it to be 90 degrees from the base. I reset the set screws and doubled checked it again and it stayed at 90 degrees.

Thanks for the help. Without the larger picture of the manual from the internet I may never have gotten it.
