Chih-Wei that's a beautiful specimen of wood there. Is that Cocobolo? The layout looks like a pair of eyes staring at you. :D

That is a set a wild ziricote.

It certainly carries the WOW factor that's for sure. :D

Some beautiful stuff going on here! Well, i got mine installed last nite and its clamped up now. When i get it trimmed and scraped, I'll post a pic. Afraid its pretty plain, just your basic ivoroid wedge in the grenadillo sides. But I think it will work!

Thanks for all the inspirational pics!

Some nice ones here, but I prefer mine without the wedgie.

what would it look like without some kind of graft? do you mean just the ends butted together, perhaps with some binding in between?

I like the looks with the edges together, nothing in between. Obviously, a good joint would require care in cutting and fitting the sides.

Here's a couple pics of a Koa OM. My camera isn't the best at close up shots, so the quality of the pics may not be that great. (no back strip either!)

Well, here it is, installed and scraped/sanded. Pretty plain and not much compared to some of the fine artwork above, but I am happy with it. Thanks again!!

Recently I did a Luthier Tips du Jour video on end wedges. At the end of the video I include a bunch of examples of end wedges from folks here on the OLF. See the link below.

Thanks Robbie - your Tips du Jour videos and the DVD are some of my main sources of information! Thanks for all you do!
