I'm considering buying a 1958 D28 that has had the bridge replaced and the pin holes relocated parallel with the saddle. idunno, also added was a maple overlay on the bridge plate eek .
He does have the original bridge which I would put back on, remove the overlay,
plug the holes and redrill where they ought to be.

My ? is, is the stew mac bridge saver the best thing for this? I'm wondering if there are alternatives.
revoving the bridgeplate would seem pretty drastic.
