I pore filled my current build with Stew-Macs Color Tone clear pore filler and didn't do as god as a job as I thought. After the first six coats of Nitro and sanding, I'm seeing quite a few pores that won't be filled with lacquer any time soon. What's the best way to fill these? I was thinking of trying CA over the lacquer after allowing it to cure for two weeks. Is that a waste of time? Would it be better to strip the lacquer and start over?

Thanks,
Steve

No, do not put CA over the lacquer. That would be a mess.

I would try sanding the lacquer down and applying more coats. The pores should fill with the lacquer eventually.

Thanks Barry,

I think I'll drop fill the 5 or 6 big ones and then continue with the lacquer.

Even with no pore filler at all, 8-10 coats of lac will be enough to fill them once you sand back. Then add another 5-6 and let cure.

If there's only 5 or 6 big ones just drop fill them with lacquer. I'm pretty good at pore filling but I've always had a few places to drop fill in between coats.
