Thanks Chris. I just logged on here to try rattling the cage a little myself. I was wondering what happened to everyone.

I say this every time and this time I mean it. I just hope the rest of my family and my employer listens to me.

But I'm planning on coming.

Hi guys, Well, It looks like us three are the only "regulars" at our meets! :D
I talked to Ken Bailey,he had volunteered to host again But the date in June was bad for him so We could
change it or if you don't mind doing a double Jim,that's cool! I had a great time at the last one. We could make
it the 27th at Kens or just stick with the 20th at yours Jim. Whatevah!
Hey ! John Killin - Good to hear you are going to make this one buddy.
I talked to Jim Mitchell and he has been building cigar box ukes and selling them so he is been
perdy busy but I will invite him again. I hope to have my cherry Concert Jumbo strung up by then.
If you want, I'll do a demo of making and using my favorite glue...HHG.

No date changes as far as I'm concerned. We set the last meeting around Ken's schedule and he didn't even show up. Dog bits you once no ones fault, dog bits you a second time , shame on you. The only date change would be if the set host( Jim Bonnell) has an important issue come up as far as I'm concerned.
I emailed and called Jim M. last night and so far no answer. He must be mad at me. Anyone know what happen to Mitch Cain?

I'm planning to be there... but then I was planning on the last one and missed it. Had a horse down the morning of the meeting and had to wait for a vet to come out. Anyway I'll be there, barring anything out of the ordinary.

I'm up to hosting again if you all want me to. I had a good time doing it but don't want to hog all the fun. Hot hide glue sounds good. I'll supply corn chips to go with it. Now we need more demo ideas. I think Keith said he had a lot more tricks up his sleeve. That last one will be hard to top. Maybe he'll chirp in here.
P.S. No more employer, family or lame horse excuses!

I really wish you guys could find a way to host this a little closer to the middle of the state. I'm just one guy I know but that's my take. That's a long drive from Jax for what really amounts to a day trip.

We are in the middle of the state. Just the west side. Isn't Keith from Fort Meyers?
My guitar is done except for installing the PUP which should be here tomorrow I hope. And the fact that I'm drop filling two frickin dings I put on it this morning. gaah Two steps forward and one step back.
If you need any Fishman stuff let me know I have an account with them now.
Anyone know anything about making labels? And any of you have a strobe tuner. I use to have one on my old laptop that was pretty good actually. I have a Boss tuner that measures cents but the piece of crap thing is just a piece of crap that never did work correctly.

'Whew'....wow....there for a minute I thought Redington Shores was on the outskirts of the state. Thanks for clearing that up.

Key west is about 1 1/2 miles south of here! Any farther than that and it just drops off and you get eaten by sea monsters. The distance for our northern members is a concern, but since we only have one or two I don't know what to do about it. I don't want us to loose any members because of the distance. You could always turn the tables on us and host one up there. I'm always up for a road trip!!!

I would most likely make a couple day trip of it and stay in Gainesville. It's sounding better all the time. Let's see if Sniggly takes the bait.

I need to work on this guys. I know I'm nearly a 'loner' up here. Hodges is moving to Tennessee. Even I'm moving but it's just across town...otherwise I'd host.

Just to clarify...this meeting is on a Friday?

dang. I'm going to have to re bait that hook later and see if he sniggles it. That last picture looks like a wild party. Not only is Dave wearing a lamp shade but Elvin is dancing with his guitar. Kind of sounds like an over the hill stag party.

No Chris. Saturday June 20th.

No the meeting is on Saturday the 20th. We must have been looking at the wrong day. I think that was when Dave was dancing with the light shade on.

I have a new old idea I want to bring up. At our first meeting Ken from north Fla. brought up the idea of a group uke build. Not every person working on one, but each of us working on our own at the same time. We had a couple people at that meeting with uke experience, but I don't remember who. If there is any interest maybe they will chime in. I was thinking if we kept it simple without a lot of frills even the less experienced [like me ] could keep up. I would really love doing that. Any other interest? If so do we have any uke experience still?

I'm all for some sort of group project type of thing. I built a uke. Acutally, I have only built a uke. I have been thinking of building another along with my first guitar build. The cool thing about the uke is that there are not a lot of hard fast rules to it other than scale. If Jim is doing Cigar Box ukes that would be cool to see.

But uke or not I think it would be cool to start a group project where we can sort of follow each others progress and get ideas of how they are tackling their approach at the different steps.

I'll bring my uke books and plans to the meeting.

John
