I have been using KTM-9 for 9 or 10 guitars and enjoy the product's overall performance. wet/dry to 1200 or 2000, then polish.

However, I've been dinking around with polishing compounds, using surfboard polish, car polish and maguires #10 and/or 17......

Any recommendations for polishing out KTM-9 the correct way/sources for good polish?

thanks in advance.

I wet/dry sand KTM-9 in starting with 600 and ending with 2000, then polish with StewMac's Swirl Remover. The result is a nice high-gloss finish.

Hey Doug,

If you hand polish, as I do. you can get good results with 3M Finesse-it-ll, Perfect-it-ll, and finish with 3M hand Glaze show car finish. All purchased locally from the auto paint supplier.

I was never really satisfied with the gloss until I discovered the Hand Glaze. Now I have had other luthiers mistake my finish for nitro.
