Very nice Sir! [:Y:] What body mold did you use? Sort of looks like a J-200?

Heh Lars, well done, it's been an interesting journey, one that we've all enjoyed sharing with you.

Great job Lars…I really like the heel cap detail. [:Y:] Thank god for little mishaps that works out great. I think it could be a signature detail to incorporate into future guitars

That's a really cool looking guitar, Lars! I'll bet it'll sound great once you get the setup worked out. I haven't built with black limba yet, but I have some nice stuff that I look forward to using.

In the future, if you cut the end of the FB a smidge too short, you can fix that. Before putting the neck on and gluing the FB down, use tape to create a sort of "dam" or pocket at the end of the FB. Dump some sanding dust from your FB wood (possibly mixed with dust from a similarly-toned, but lighter colored wood) into the pocket and wick in thin CA until you've got a solid mass of reconstructed wood added on to the end of the board. Then, reshape it. If you bevel the added material back so that none of it actually shows on the face of the FB, it will never be noticed. It would be very difficult, I think, to do this now that the FB is glued to the soundboard, but it's a good trick to have up your sleeve for the future. Or, if you used one of those neck joints where the FB extension is bolted down rather than glued down, you could still do it on this guitar. If my description of this method isn't clear, let me know.

Another thing you can do is learn to make rosettes with no gap. It's not that hard.

I wasn´t planning on making the bridge this short at first "also a mistake" :D thats the reason I did not make a rosette without gaps . hmm. :D .

I think I will let this one be after I have fixt the buzz etc. and just have it as a learning guitar. It sounds and looks great though "if not going to much gloseups" duh :D . the ones I have shown it to says it looks and sounds great. but there is just something about the knowing its not totally up to where I want it that enoys me. "I can see the mistakes" even if no one else can. gaah .

really happy with my next one though !! its a beauty. just ordered some stuff from stewmac so I can get it to where I want it. "without the small thingys" haha

Lars,
Fantastic job!!! [clap] [clap] [clap]
I really love the aesthetic touches you incorporated in the headstock design and the heel of the neck. Overall, great wood selection, great lines, all around terrific balance. You should be extremely proud with Number 1! I have not hit that milestone yet myself, but I imagine that everyone who has, holds a soft spot in their heart for their Number 1.

It has been a treat reading your posts on your progress along the way.

Cheers!
Rick

Right, understood, and I didn't mean that suggestion as a put-down of your skills at all. It's just an alternative approach that allows you to do things with the placement of the soundhole and/or the design of the neck joint and FB extension that you can't do when covering the gap in the rosette is part of the plan. Having learned how to make rosettes without a gap, though, I find that it's not significantly more difficult or time consuming, so I will probably always do them that way now, even if my FB extension will cover the top of the rosette.

Congratulations Lars. That is a very handsome guitar. I love the neck, headstock, heel, wood choices...all quite elegant. What is the finish?
Walter

[:Y:] [:Y:] [:Y:] . Thanks you guys.
To be honest. I am not that happy with the sound (I am a musician to) so I know what I want to hear and I think I made the top a bit to thin, as either its the strings making the sound of high pitched trebles buzz or its the top that is distorting. I dont know. tried to fix a bit with the frets a while ago but did not help much. I will also try to maker the sadle higher. it does sound great when played on gently. but as soon as I strum it, It kinda sounds distorted. So as I said before this will be my true learning guitar.

Nr2. though, has nothing of the mistakes nr.1 has and it´s one of those that feels just great in every aspekt (so far) :D So that great and wonderful feeling of having made nr.1 will go to nr.2 haha  .

Lars.
