It sounds like you're having loads of fun. What a very cool idea. So is it leaning more towards electric or acoustic?

Hopefully you'll share more than a couple of photos when you get a little further into it. It looks like a great concept.

That's really cool. Did you guys carve the top that afternoon, too? I did a drum set out of Karelian in 2003. Oi, expensive [xx(] And I threw the remaining scraps out a year ago [headinwall]

Mike, I can't speak for them, but when I was veneering drums I used the Compact 100 from http://www.vacupress.com along with their glue. If the interior is already carved out, cut up some construction foam from Home Depot to fit.
