Out of focus a bit I know but this is the neck at it's max angle and if I need more I just chisel some of the neck socket out.
The treatment of the hole can be handled many ways as you can see by the post above. I choose to put my strap button over it. I needed a hole large enough to accept a 5/32" allen wrench which is the size of the 12-24 tap hole. It also allows me to tap the strap button for the 12-24 and have enough meterial left on the button to hold. I hope this helps explain it.
Also note that this is my first atemp with this joint and there were some errors with shimming my drilling jig/template wrong and I had to plug and re drill the neck. And also the finish is still drying and needs a final level sanding and buffing. This week I hope. :P

I found a couple of photos. First shows the CF rods and truss rod in the neck. Second shows the neck/top intersection. The neck joint is very similar to Chris' guitar. You can see the top bolt wavy washer in the truss rod route which is why the truss rod is upside down. One of the things that needs to be modified the next time.

The fretboard extension on mine fits much the same as Chris' does in the post above.

Looks good Steve. I'm thinking about the tubes on the next one too. I adjust the truss from the head. My whole point was to stray out of the body. I just don't like sticking the wrench in the body to adjust it if you know what I mean?

Brad - hope the photos help.

Chris - I understand, we all have our preferences; mine is for the truss rod nut in the body but I'm going to have to do some redesign to get it right.

Steve...the pics are very helpful. I am going to make mine a little different but it always good to see how others approach and solve the problem.

Yeah I hear you Steve I always like having the head clear. But on this one I went with the ease of adjustment and I was concerned with the truss rod channel hitting the top edge of my capture bolt as I used a hot rod too and wanted to keep the bolts as high as I could. I know of someone who leaves the top bolt out as the string pull keeps the neck tight at the top.
